OCEAN DRIVE MAGAZINE COVER PARTY

Local VIPs celebrated Miami’s fave gal & cover star Gabrielle Union at the Ocean Drive Cover Party at the Nautilus Hotel in South Beach. Of course, hubs Dwyane Wade and other Miami Heat teammates came out to support and I was happy to supply the sounds to keep them grooving all night long!

DINER EN BLANC

I was beyond thrilled & honored to be asked to soundtrack the second annual and widely known event, Diner en Blanc in Miami. The event which is held at a surprise location until only a couple hours before it begins was held at the elegant Palm Court in the Miami Design District.

Over 1,200 guests, dressed in head to toe in white,  arrived in buses & set up beautiful table settings for their pop-up picnic. The night included the Parisian parties’ traditions of the napkin waving, lighting of sparklers & toasts supplied by Perrier-Jouet Champagne throughout the night. After a live performance by grammy-award winning artist, Marlow Rosado, I took stage and had guests dancing all night underneath the stars.

Big shout to PR agency, Alchemy, for putting together this magical production, despite our cities unpredictable weather!

HAUTE LIVING x DANIEL MAZZONE x ART BASEL

Just one of the many of events I’m participating in throughout Miami in conjunction with Art Basel, still I was very excited for this one in particular as Haute Living & Alliance Bernstein celebrated the work of Daniel Mazzone, popular for his colorful collage work & dubbed “the next Andy Warhol,” by Elite Daily.

The exhibition was held at the 1 Hotel South Beach unveiling 24 never-before-seen pieces with 1,000 art collectors, enthusiasts and VIPs enjoying cocktails, conversation & curated music by me.

BELVEDERE x SPECTRE 007 FILM RELEASE PARTY

After performing for the Belvedere Roadshow at Temple House, I was invited to DJ the after party for the private screening of the  highly anticipated 24th Bond installment, SPECTRE, at the 1 Hotel Rooftop on South Beach. The red carpet event included an appearance by actress Stephanie Sigman, who plays the role of Estrella in the movie’s opening scene.

Bond girls kept the Belvedere 007 martinis flowing while I kept the party goers moving, mixing dance classics with some of the best of Bond theme music.

THE ART OF FASHION SHOW

Ocean Drive Magazine celebrated the newest in fall fashion by hosting the ART OF FASHION show at Neiman Marcus Coral Gables. Beauty stops were setup throughout the store including Nail Art from art atelier, Vanity Projects, hair touch ups by Glamsquad, and photo booths for snapping #ShoeSelfie’s in their stilleto’s (God, I love a good #Shoefie!)

The runway show featured the newest trends and must have items for men & women of the season hosted by CBS 4’s Lisa Petrillo. There were so many great pieces I’m definitely adding to my fall wardrobe. It was so much fun to supply the soundtrack to the models’ strut & to introduce new music to the over 500 stylish guests in attendance.

BELVEDERE VODKA x SPECTRE 007 ROADSHOW

I always love to be amongst the first to experience something new, this time it was for the new partnership between Belvedere Vodka & the new James Bond film, SPECTRE, unveiling 007 limited edition Belvedere bottles. An event so exclusive & secretive, no pictures were allowed to be posted until the distributer’s public launch date.

The themed event included a cocktail reception featuring the Belvedere 007 martini while I incorporated classic James Bond songs throughout the night into my mix.

ABSOLUT x ART BASEL

Back another year for Absoult Art Bureau, this time with L.A. based commissioned artist, Ry Rocklen. The week long installation titled, Night Court is a pop-up bar, a performance venue, a sports arena and a showroom for Rocklen’s new line of furniture, “Trophy Modern”. Everything from the bar to the bleachers were all custom designed. I evened my own custom trophy DJ booth (I possibly the coolest & most creative booth I’ve had to date)

Chosen again as the resident DJ, I performed each night along with an eclectic roster of talent each night including, Ariel Pink, The Bushes & the spandex choreographed, balletic accompaniment of Bodies International. The Absolut cocktails are all inspired by sports terminology like the ‘Winning Spirit’: a shot of Absolut on the rocks. And then there’s ‘And One.’ The last night concluded with the Parisian pop-up Le Baron, making an unexpected appearance on our basketball court. Absolut knocked another Basel party out of the park… Thank you again for having me at the center of it all!

ART BASEL SWITZERLAND

I had the pleasure of meeting artist Mickalene Thomas in 2012 during a private dinner held by Absolut Vodka during Art Basel in Miami. She enjoyed the vinyl records I was playing and made a connection instantly through music.
I later received an invite by her to perform at her gallery opening in Soho New York, which of course, I happily excepted. It was there when I got a true feel of her artistry. She is a true creative!
She then invited me to be part of her commissioned work in Basel, Switzerland sponsored by Absolut Basel. Mickalene recreated a 1970’s disco den in every detail from interior design to the cocktails served for the week, and I was lucky enough to be her choice of resident DJ amongst the elite invites and other invited guests to perform during the week long instillation, including Jasmine Kara & Solange Knowles.
