It’s not your average store opening when actress Eva Menedes makes a personal appearance to commemorate her collaboration with fashion retailer, New York & Company. Born in Miami herself, it seemed only fitting for the actress to make her first red carpet appearance in six months in one of the city’s most iconic shopping centers, Dadeland Mall.

The store opened  with hundreds of guests lined up outside its doors & I was thrilled to provide the music, a mix of italian mambo & french pop, tailored to Eva’s taste. Thanks to my friends Think Red for the plug & for putting together another flawless production.

This past Saturday, I not only attended my first horse race, I was also asked to take part of the star-studded line-up for the 1st ever Pegasus World Cup Invitational and what is now the richest horse race in the world. With over 12,000 stakeholders, celebrities, socialites and racing fans filling up seats at Gulfstream Park, it was the most highly anticipated match-up in Thoroughbred racing history between California Chrome and Arrogate.

I had the privilege of playing a set between personal favorites, DJ Cassidy & Ruckus inside 10 Palms that hosted more than 600 VIPs and A-listers including Vanessa Hudgens, Aaron Paul (GUSH), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Love her!), Gene Simmons (of KISS… legend.), Karolina Kurkova and Usher just to name a few. After the races, I took the main stage following multi-platinum artist Thomas Rhett while E! News host Maria Menounos reported live on NBC behind me. A huge Thank You to both E11evn & The Stronach Group for the honorable invite.

Summer wouldn’t be complete without Miami Swim Week, a week full of bikini runway shows, celebrities & parties. First up, the annual kick-off event, Splashion presented by Miami Magazine. The eighth annual party & runway show was hosted by YesJulz and Uncle Luke at the W South Beach & even included a surprise performance by Kent Jones.

I spent the rest of the week soundtracking backstage sounds for all the models at L’oreal Professional’s activation, Hair Fashion Night. The global event takes place in 25 countries & considered the biggest night dedicated to hair trends from Beach Waves to Double Braids.

I was so excited & honored to participate in the 12th annual Irie Weekend for the 2nd year in a row! Not only do I get to contribute to my friend Irie’s charitable cause but I also get to experience the mother of all golf tournaments – win, win!

Hitting the green again at the iconic Miami Beach Golf Club, I opened the event right before the national anthem & DJ Irie took stage for his welcoming speech. I later played with a roster of talented DJs inside the VIP tent as celebrity guests including, Ray Allen, Alonzo Mourning, & Gary Sheffield slid through to cool off after a hot morning of hitting balls throughout the course.

The weekend rounded out with it’s annual BBQ beach bash at the Sherborne Hotel & the closing celebration at E11even with T-Pain, Ace Hood & other famous faces

Local VIPs celebrated Miami’s fave gal & cover star Gabrielle Union at the Ocean Drive Cover Party at the Nautilus Hotel in South Beach. Of course, hubs Dwyane Wade and other Miami Heat teammates came out to support and I was happy to supply the sounds to keep them grooving all night long!

It was a foodie dream come true to be part of the many festivities that take place during the Food Networks’ South Beach Food & Wine Festival. This year, the infamous festival celebrated it’s 15th year and I kicked off the week at Paella & Tapas hosted by James Beard Award-winning Chef José Andrés at the SLS South Beach. It was hard to focus on music with the huge dishes of paella being freshly prepared in front of the booth. Still, I was able to spin a mix of crowd classics with a Spaniard twist, transporting guests to the streets of Sevilla without ever leaving the beach.

Next, was soundtracking two of the biggest & sold out events of the week. First up, Amstel Light’s Burger Bash hosted by Rachael Ray then, Meatopia hosted by Michael Symon & opening for American rock legend, the Allman Brothers Band. With over 5,000 guests in the festival tents each night, it was arguably the biggest crowd I’ve performed for to date. Thank you to all the sponsors… Can’t wait till next year!

It was exciting news to hear I’d be added as a Resident DJ to Hyde Arena roster this year! Who’s not a Heat fan & the energy inside this arena is intensely addictive.

Every game has been exciting on & off the court, with unexpected celebrity sightings & fans dropping into Hyde. We made our way into the playoffs and although we fell short to the finals this year, nothing can keep a true Heat fan down. Looking forward to a new season & many more celebratory game nights!

After performing for the Belvedere Roadshow at Temple House, I was invited to DJ the after party for the private screening of the  highly anticipated 24th Bond installment, SPECTRE, at the 1 Hotel Rooftop on South Beach. The red carpet event included an appearance by actress Stephanie Sigman, who plays the role of Estrella in the movie’s opening scene.

Bond girls kept the Belvedere 007 martinis flowing while I kept the party goers moving, mixing dance classics with some of the best of Bond theme music.

Back another year for Absoult Art Bureau, this time with L.A. based commissioned artist, Ry Rocklen. The week long installation titled, Night Court is a pop-up bar, a performance venue, a sports arena and a showroom for Rocklen’s new line of furniture, “Trophy Modern”. Everything from the bar to the bleachers were all custom designed. I evened my own custom trophy DJ booth (I possibly the coolest & most creative booth I’ve had to date)

Chosen again as the resident DJ, I performed each night along with an eclectic roster of talent each night including, Ariel Pink, The Bushes & the spandex choreographed, balletic accompaniment of Bodies International. The Absolut cocktails are all inspired by sports terminology like the ‘Winning Spirit’: a shot of Absolut on the rocks. And then there’s ‘And One.’ The last night concluded with the Parisian pop-up Le Baron, making an unexpected appearance on our basketball court. Absolut knocked another Basel party out of the park… Thank you again for having me at the center of it all!
